SEP Published the Notice of Santos Drainage and Maintenance

21/04/2014 – The Secretariat of Ports (SEP) published, on Friday, in the Official Gazette of Brazil the bidding notice for drainage and maintenance in Porto de Santos, including maintenance works of the depth of the access canal and breakwater berths, as required in the Reference Term in public consult until January 12.

The drainage works in the port comprise adequacy and maintenance of depth in the access canal (15 metres, referenced at zero in DHN), in breakwater berths and their respective project depths, improving sail safety in maneuvering basins and berths. The contract will be valid for three years and will demand the maintenance in Porto de Santos, including the maintenance works of the depth of the access canal and breakwater berths, as required in the Reference Term in public consult until January 12.

The notice (ONLY IN PORTUGUESE) with the participation rules are available in SEP’s website along with the Engineering Pre-Project and the Reference Term with technical details about the works that will be performed.

The bidding will be performed under the Integrated Hiring regime, described in Law N. 12,462/2011, Article 9. The negotiation will discuss the elaboration of the basic project and the executive project, including essential studies for primary data and work performance.

In order to increase competition, the secretariat will perform an international prospection to draw companies of the USA, Belgium, Holland, China, Denmark, Portugal, Italy and similar countries.

‘We are sending letters to more than 15 companies and embassies. The goal is to increase competition in the bedding so as we have concurrence and we can show that the Brazilian dredge market will be a heat,’ informed the secretary of port infrastructure, Tiago Correia.

He claimed that the dredge chronogram will be strong in 2014, with monthly announcements of bidding notice publications. In this semester will be published notices for ports in Mucuripe (Fortaleza), Paranaguá, Rio de Janeiro, Cabedelo and Maceió.

Santos Port works mark the beginning of the second phase of the National Dredge Plan (PND-2), created by new regulatory framework in the sector. The PND2, launched in 2012 by the president Dilma Rousseff, integrates the Logistics Investments Program – Ports.
